Performances
An important aspect of Amakula Kampala as established in the first festival is the encouragement of unique multi-disciplinary projects. Amakula Kampala intends to uphold this tradition by commissioning local practitioners in the arts in Kampala to engage a specific creative challenge that juxtaposes their own discipline with another. In this way, the festival has commissioned musicians to create scores or to improvise for classic silent films, theatre makers, dancers and choreographers to work with multi-media and/or visual approaches, and visual artists to create unique multi-media work or design collaboratively within other media.

Storytelling Genesis in the Cinema
One unique aspect of this festival is the offering of several selected films in a unique presentation with a live story teller to explicate and or provide translation rather than using sub-titles.

The Story you’re telling…
An open project during the festival was to record various very brief stories offered by those attending the festival. Festival attendees were asked to tell a story to the camera which then appeared in between the screenings.
