Summary:

Walt Disney’s very first films were conceived as a combination of live action and animation which was inspired by Through the Looking Glass. Disney had originally planned to film the book itself but as that project was delayed he commenced with this ongoing series of shorts which, once begun, occupied him for the next several years. The films exhibit some of Disney’s most creative personal work and perhaps best illustrate the true animation style of the man himself before he became the famous industrial brand name for an entire fantasy world of characters and stories which were ultimately created by a huge staff of creative talents.
