Summary:
The Benet Ndorobo people of Mt Elgon are driven out of their home in the name of environmental protection and development. The irony is that now they lead poorer and less secure lives, and the destruction to the forest is on the increase. Theirs is the first community to have pursued litigation against a sitting government and obtain a consent judgement.
Kalundi Serumaga acquired a Film MA in UK. Early ’90s he became Director Uganda National Cultural Centre. He works as an independent film maker and media consultant and hosts a political radio show. Currently completing a documentary on the crisis of the Anglican church in Africa. Campaigner for native rights in Uganda, founder of the Serumaga Centre For The Arts.
