Summary:

In this fascinating portrait of Leonard Johnson, a white homeless drug addict, the history of Johannesburg is turned on its head. Vincent Moloi follows Leonard through the streets of Johannesburg cluttered with hawkers, and no longer lit with the magic of Christmas lights. Jozi’s streets tell a different story from what it was in the past. Leonard has waisted a life of white privilege to hustle on the streets, selling fake gold jewellery and begging from passers-by, making enough for his daily hit of zol (drugs). This is a painfully penetrating reflection of post apartheid South Africa and some curious twists on the unavoidable problems of race relationships.
