Summary:

The dead come back to life and eat the living. This was the premise for a simple low budget film independently produced in far-from-Hollywood Pittsburgh, Pa. by a resourceful man named George Romero. The resulting movie has become over time one of the most revered classics of savage Vietnam-era political commentary, reflexive media critique and downright tanglible horror in the cinema.  Romero’s grainy black and white film absorbs documentary technique into a realm of pure hysteria where the desperate acting is utterly appropriate to the events and humanity is confronted with its own base nature. Romero continued to advance this theme in what has become an impressive cycle.
